I'm So Over "The Donald"

The amount of hate Megyn Kelly is getting over the debate is mystifying to me. Since when is asking tough questions out of character for Kelly?

Pushing a candidate hard for answers is her job, and if that candidate can't take the heat or doesn't like the question, perhaps he shouldn't be running for the highest office in the land.

Trump's record - and make no mistake about it, it is his record - is something he has to answer for and his treatment of women in the past is cause for concern. And if there was ever any doubt, just look at the things he's said about Megyn after the debate. He's sulking like a ten-year-old whose parents told him to go to his room.

Trump is a clown and a buffoon, and far out of his depth. He's used to getting his own way - all day, every day. His brash, rude behavior might be fine for a "reality" show or running a business (into 4 bankruptcies) but it isn't fitting for a presidential candidate, let alone a PRESIDENT. How far do you think that behavior will get him on the international stage?

"The Donald" isn't Reaganesque. Reagan was bold but tactful. He made clear where the United States stood without belittling anyone in a fit of rage. Trump is all flash and no substance, buffoonery wrapped in boorishness.

Instead of blasting Megyn Kelly for "attacking" Trump, we should be thanking her for exposing him as the fraud he is. It's amazing to me that people are still supporting him.

Look, I get it - Trump is popular right now. He's saying a lot of things that are resonating with a ton of people. I'm not buying it - not even a little bit.

He might be bold, but he's also crass and arrogant. He's certainly not presidential. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the only candidate I've seen recently as arrogant as Trump is King DingleBarry himself and even he isn't as crass about it.

Every true conservative has rightly pointed out that the U.S. no longer operates under a free-market system; that our politicians are bought and sold to the highest bidder and no longer represent We the People.

Who do you think is one of the aforementioned bidders? If you answered Trump, you're correct. He admitted as much in the debate. He pays, and they come running when he calls. Seriously, is that who we really want to lead this nation? I know *I* don't.

Trump has favored a single-payer healthcare system in the past, supported gun control, and I believe (though I'm not entirely sure) has stated that he's pro-choice. I'm not willing to put the rapidly disappearing future of this nation in the hands of someone who doesn't hold any of my values except when following the political winds.

My Vote? RINO's Need Not Apply

I've never made a secret of my disdain for polls and pollsters. I truly believe that if they're not outright useless, they're harmful, particularly to political thinking.

While watching Fox and Friends this morning, pollster Frank Luntz was interviewed about the Republican field being in New Hampshire. Luntz has a focus group - one of my least favorite phrases - of likely Republican primary voters.

Luntz says that, according to his group, no one candidate has risen to the top as an odds-on favorite for the Republican nomination. That's not really a surprise given how early in the race it is.

Then he says his focus group believes that electability is more important than ideology.

Yes, you read that correctly.

I know that we're talking about New Hampshire here, but really?! Not worrying about ideology is what led to King DingleBarry's coronation.... Twice!!!

We need a conservative, plain and simple - a true conservative.

There is an ENTIRE GENERATION of voters who don't even know what a true conservative is, let alone what a true conservative looks and sounds like. We need someone who can articulate why conservatism is best for all.

Romney, McCain - not conservatives. Jeb Bush - not a conservative. I would even hesitate to call Marco Rubio or Rand Paul conservatives, although they're much, much closer than Romney and McCain have ever been.

There's a time and place for voting for the lesser of two evils. The primaries aren't that time and place. After the last two presidential elections, I'm not sure even the general election is the place and time anymore.

2016 could possibly be the most important election, not just in our lifetimes, but in the history of the nation. The next president could either be the final nail in the coffin of freedom - or the beginning of the restoration of that freedom.

Time is running out for us. The window to save what we all love is closing. We need this one, and I believe the only way we can win is with a conservative - unafraid, unapologetic, uncomplicated and, most importantly - unabashed. ~ Hunter

Yesterday, on The Kelly File's Facebook page, a link to the Fox News story about the federal judge in Texas and his decision to temporarily halt the Prince of Fools' executive action on illegal immigration was posted. That's not terribly surprising, as nearly every news and/or opinion show with a social media presence has posted a story or three about the injunction.

What was remarkable, however, was a particularly brilliant comment (included in this post) posted in the thread. The commenter has since informed me that it was originally from Ted Nugent. I'm not a huge fan of Nugent, but when you see satire this beautiful, it just has to be acknowledged. Enjoy. ~ Hunter

Dear Mr. Obama:
 
I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.

We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements. We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.

I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here So, would you mind telling your buddy, the President of Mexico, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

 
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
 
2. English-speaking Government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
 
3. Please print all Mexican Government forms in English.
 
4. I want my grand kids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
 
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
 
6. I want my grand kids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
 
7. Please plan to feed my grand kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
 
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
  
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
 
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
 
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put US. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
 
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
 
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
 
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
 
15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.
 
16. I'll need income tax credits so that although I don't pay Mexican taxes, I'll receive money from the government.
 
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Government pays $4,500.00 to help me buy a new car.
  
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.
